Worldcoin Selects Argentina as Regional Hub for Latin American Expansion

Worldcoin announced a significant investment in Argentina, choosing the country as its regional hub. This expansion includes the opening of 50 new facilities in more than 10 Argentine cities, positioning Argentina as a key center for the development of artificial intelligence (AI) and financial technology in the region.

The company revealed that these new facilities will house Worldcoin’s “Orbs,” futuristic devices designed for iris scanning. This innovative process, known as World ID, will reward participants with WLD tokens. The expansion is designed to have a positive impact on the local job market, creating opportunities for developers, software engineers, data analysts, and other technology professionals.

Strategic Choice of Argentina

The decision to center its operations in Argentina was reinforced after a meeting in San Francisco between Worldcoin co-founders Sam Altman and Alex Blania and Argentine President Javier Milei. Martín Mazza, regional manager of Tools for Humanity, highlighted that Argentina, with its robust technological ecosystem and highly qualified human capital, is the ideal place to carry out this vision. Mazza stated: “We are excited that Buenos Aires will become a regional hub for these efforts, and we are delighted to deepen our collaboration with the local community to drive AI development and financial inclusion in the country.”

Development and Education Initiatives

As part of its commitment to Argentina, Worldcoin will also launch the Wave0 Community Scholarship Program, which will offer financial support to entrepreneurs interested in developing applications and services that use Worldcoin’s technology. This program reflects the company’s focus on fostering local innovation and giving Argentine talent the opportunity to excel in the technology field.

Regional and Global Growth

Worldcoin’s expansion in Argentina underscores the strategic importance of Latin America for the project. With growing operations in countries such as Chile, Peru, Colombia, Argentina, and Mexico, Worldcoin continues to advance its mission of building a global digital identity and financial network. Since launching its humanity verification services in Argentina ten months ago, more than 500,000 Argentines have verified their World ID. Globally, more than 5.5 million people have been verified, and 10 million have downloaded the World App.

Innovation and Future

Worldcoin aims to become the largest financial and digital identity network in the world, allowing users to control their personal data while providing proof of humanity (PoH). The World App, developed by Tools for Humanity, enables global payments and transfers using digital assets and traditional currencies, prioritizing privacy. With its growing presence and focus on technological innovation and financial inclusion, Worldcoin is poised to play a crucial role in the digital economy of the future.

The choice of Argentina as a regional hub for Worldcoin’s expansion not only recognizes the country’s potential in the technology sector but also provides an opportunity for local talent to contribute to the development of groundbreaking tools in the AI era.
