Argencon will lead an international mission to the United States with the aim of boosting the goal of reaching USD $30 billion in exports, strengthening technological cooperation with the North American ecosystem, and promoting new investments in high value-added services, technology, and artificial intelligence.
The delegation will pursue a high-level agenda in New York and Washington D.C., between November 3rd and 6th, with meetings at the Argentine Embassy, the Council of the Americas, the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the Center for Global Enterprise, and the Information Technology and Innovation Foundation (ITIF), in addition to an academic presentation at Georgetown University.
Executives from leading companies such as Accenture, Globant, Baufest, EY, PwC, and INVAP will participate, along with Sebastián Mocorrea, President of Argencon, and Leandro Mora Alfonsín, its Executive Development Director.
“This mission is an opportunity to show the world Argentina’s potential in the Knowledge Economy and the talent of our professionals. Our sector is already the country’s third-largest export complex and represents the most advanced frontier of our competitiveness. The United States is the main destination for our exports, and deepening the complementarity of this relationship is key to reaching the $30 billion target,” stated Sebastián Mocorrea, President of Argencon.
“We are going to the United States to consolidate strategic ties, attract investments, and strengthen Argentina’s role as a regional hub for innovation and artificial intelligence. We have a mature ecosystem, highly trained human capital, and a technological infrastructure that positions us as a strategic partner for the world’s leading economies,” he added.
An Agenda Focused on the Internationalization of Argentine Talent
The mission seeks to expand the partnership with the United States in the fields of technology, professional services, and Artificial Intelligence, focusing on the integration of global operations: enabling North American companies to integrate part of their technological and professional back-office in Argentina.
The mission will be comprised of a group of business leaders and innovation experts who represent the main actors in the Argentine knowledge ecosystem:
- Sofía Vago, President of Accenture Argentina.
- Ángel Pérez Puletti, CEO of Baufest.
- Verónica Asla, Leader of EY Global Delivery Services Latam.
- Néstor Nocetti, Co-founder and EVP of Corporate Affairs at Globant.
- Darío Giussi, CEO and General Manager of INVAP.
- Eduardo Gil Roca, Senior Partner at PwC Argentina.
The itinerary will begin on November 3rd in New York, with the panel “Why Argentina? Innovation, Talent, and Opportunity in the Argentine Knowledge Economy” at the Argentine Consulate, followed by a breakfast at the Council of the Americas and a working session at The Center for Global Enterprise on global trade in technology services.
In Washington D.C., the delegation will participate in the events “Argentina Delivers: Professional and Technology Services Delivered from Argentina”—an initiative by Argencon and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to attract new global service centers—and “Argentina as a Potential Global AI Hub” at the Argentine Embassy. They will also hold meetings with representatives from the National Artificial Intelligence Association (NAIA), and an academic dialogue at Georgetown University on the country’s role in the age of artificial intelligence.
The agenda will be completed with meetings at the Information Technology and Innovation Foundation (ITIF), focusing on global AI policies and digital commerce, and at the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), where potential lines of institutional collaboration will be addressed.
The mission will also include the participation of national public sector authorities, who will support the promotional and internationalization efforts of the Argentine knowledge ecosystem. Attendees will be Santiago Pordelanne, Undersecretary of the Knowledge Economy for the Ministry of Economy; Tomás Villalba, Chief of Staff for the Secretariat of International Economic Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; and Carolina Bustos, Director of Export Promotion for Knowledge-Based Services at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Argentina, a Reliable Partner for Investment in Knowledge
Argentina is currently one of the leading destinations for the establishment of global service centers, with more than 50 hubs employing 65,000 professionals. Its strengths in talent, education, institutional stability, and cultural affinity position it as a reliable and competitive destination for locating international operations.
Furthermore, Argentine technology-based companies lead projects of global reach, with the capacity to operate at the technological frontier and promote the social adoption of artificial intelligence in productive value chains and civil society.
Argentina on the Global Knowledge Map
According to the latest Argenconomics report prepared by Argencon, exports of knowledge-based services reached an all-time record of USD $9.685 billion between July 2024 and June 2025, with a year-on-year growth of 20.8% and a rate that doubles the world average.
“Knowledge has become the new currency of global trade. This industry not only generates foreign exchange but also consolidates Argentina’s positioning as an exporter of talent and innovation,” explained Leandro Mora Alfonsín, Argencon’s Executive Development Director.
He also highlighted that “this mission expresses that vision: a country that can project its human capital, its creativity, and its technological capacity in the service of development and international cooperation.”
